Do you have my size?

If anyone knows me H&M is my favorite store. It’s simply yet sophisticated, classy yet creative. So, as the spring season approaches i had to check the latest spring 2013 pieces.

If anyone knows me H&M is my favorite store. It’s simply yet sophisticated, classy yet creative. So, as the spring season approaches i had to check the latest spring 2013 pieces.

i have always admired the way in which H&M creates their clothes, especially the detail. I recently found out they have a new Plus section. I consider myself a “healthy” girl so I was very excited to know what designs H&M would create.

I have to admit I was a little disappointed as I was expecting to see the same caliber of clothing as I have seen in the past. The pieces seemed to be very plain and basic. Is this because we are dealing with a plus size section? I have noticed in some stores that the plus size section in some stores have very basic and plain looking clothes, whereas the remainder of the store consist of clothing very vibrant in color, with intricate details for sizes 12 and below. It’s as if the idea of making a plus size line filled with color, detail and overall creative design is somewhat of a challenge.

The general women’s section had several categories, from lingerie to blazers to socks, shorts, jeans, with a total of 15 different sections.

whereas the plus size section had a total of 5 section. Interesting….Below are few pieces from the H&M plus size section.

Is it me or is there somewhat of an imbalance between the general women’s section and the plus size section?

I greatly appreciate the blogs and designers who cater specifically to curvy women and create pieces that give women of all sizes a sense of sexy, sassy motivation. I still love H&M, but I would kindly suggest a few tweaks in the plus size section. Thoughts?
